Broad Entertainment Venture Launched By YouTube

The video site, owned by Google Inc., recently said it is launching more than 100 new video channels.

From news.yahoo.com:

The Google Inc.-owned video site said Friday that it’s launching more than 100 new video channels. The partners include an array of Hollywood production companies, celebrities and new media groups that will produce mainly niche-oriented videos.

YouTube is shelling out $100 million to producers, according to people familiar with the matter, who spoke on condition of anonymity. The money is an advance on advertising money the videos will bring in, and Google will recoup its portion first before splitting the proceeds. Advances are as high as $5 million per channel, said another person familiar with the arrangement, also speaking on condition of anonymity.

YouTube in a blog posting said the channels are being developed “specifically for the digital age.”

Sandwich Board – Cost Effective Business Promotion Medium

June 20th, 2011 by admin

Sandwich Board - Cost Effective Business Promotion MediumMost small business entrepreneurs making an attempt to enhance the visibility of their business in the local area opt for sandwich boards. These cost effective advertising mediums prove useful to promote such cause in more than just a way. Let us access some of the benefits of sandwich boards so that making an informed decision is easy and rewarding, to say the least.

Sandwich boards are also known as Marquee Sandwich Boards, Sidewalk Sandwich Boards, Signicade Sandwich Boards, and WindSign Sandwich Boards and are second to none when it comes to creating and maintaining a perfect ambience for the street while promoting the products and services of a business. They are one of the best options when it comes to improving the presence of a business, especially a new or a small business. This is not just because a sandwich board is highly economical when compared to other forms of advertising such as television, radio, and yellow page advertisements but also because it has a longer life as compared to these advertising forms.

In addition to all these benefits, sandwich boards are also effective in encouraging potential customers to become aware about the presence of the concerned business without the business spending fortunes for creating such awareness. If that was not all, sandwich boards offer a high degree of portability and flexibility and can even be used to specify the route leading to the business premises.

In short, a sandwich board is the best choice for you when it comes to promoting your business on a mass scale but at a low cost.

April 6th, 2011 by admin

Unilever shakeup puts marketing contract at riskSir Martin Sorrell’s advertising giant WPP is on the brink of losing a marketing contract worth £281m as part of a massive shake-up by the consumer products giant Unilever.

Unilever spends a staggering £2.5bn advertising household favourites from Marmite to Ben & Jerry’s ice cream every year.

From Dailymail.co.uk:

But it has launched a review of the media planning and buying service offered by top agencies WPP (up 7.5p to 604p), Omnicom and Interpublic.

It is the latest change instigated by chief executive, Paul Polman, who has turned the business on its head since joining almost 12 months ago.

Sources say Unilever is close to announcing it is replacing WPP’s Mindshare agency for its crucial mainland China account.

The business is worth £281m in annual billing and arch rival Omnicom, through its media buying agency PHD, is understood to have clinched the deal.

Unilever is a top three client of WPP and the decision could cost it between £5m to £10m in fees.

Be Truthful to Your Customers

June 14th, 2010 by admin

Be Truthful to Your CustomersIf you are an entrepreneur and some one has just suggested you to compromise on quality of products and services to make some quick money, do not fall in the trap. You may be able to make easy profits, but that profits will be for a very short period and the aftereffects forever. The point is – be truthful to your customers at all times.

The recession may have hit your business, the profits may have come down, but it does not mean that you try recovering by indulging into unethical business practices and marketing strategies. There is nothing wrong with aggressive advertising but do make it a point that you are not misleading the customers or providing them with sub-standard products and services. Remember, a business truthful to its customers may achieve slow results but the time will not be far when it is able to get what it rightly deserves.

You, as a business owner, must remember that the law does not allow you to deceive or mislead customers. Moreover, you would not be able to stretch the “misleading facts” about your products and services. It is, therefore, highly recommended that you follow the principles of ethical marketing and win customers on the basis of your strengths and not your “black side”. Do make sure that all the facts claimed by you are backed by tangible and quantifiable proofs.

In short, be truthful to your customers by promising and delivering. Do remember to perform both the activities (promising and delivering) or the customers will have no tolerance for your business, meaning shut doors for you.
