Car Exhaust Systems – Benefits and Tips

March 29th, 2011 by James

If you wonder as to why some vehicle owners spend large amounts of money on an exhaust system, you will find all reasons prompting such a decision in this piece of information.

Car Exhaust Systems - Benefits and Tips

Exhaust systems have the ability to enhance the performance of vehicle engine besides creating a roar when the accelerator is pushed. Even though most car owners purchase car exhaust systems purely for the sound they provide, one cannot deny the fact that performance enhancements (that can be measured in terms of vehicle life and driving) prompt more car owners than the growling sounds of an exhaust system. Moreover, exhaust gases also help in filtering out particles in the exhaust gases and reducing the noise made when exhaust gases are expelled.

If that is not all, an exhaust system is also instrumental in helping the exhaust gases to flow through the turbocharger with the least resistance possible and allow the vehicle engine to deliver more of horsepower and torque. An exhaust system also helps in reducing the levels of noise pollution and global warming besides protecting the car occupants from harmful exhaust gases by preventing these gases from entering the vehicle compartment.

If you want to buy a high performance exhaust system, it is best to go online and contact a reputable online automotive superstore so that you get more performance and quality from your vehicle.

Cytori eyes Indian market for growth

March 21st, 2011 by James

Cytori Therapeutics Inc, the medical device maker, is about to enter the Indian market by forging deals with healthcare service providers.

The deal will include an alliance with Apollo Hospitals Enterprise, by the end of this year, according to chief executive of the company.

Cytori’s Celution system, which has already received approval from European regulators, is used for breast reconstruction after lumpectomy in patients with breast cancer.

“We selected Apollo as a group to work with as it has the largest hospital chain within India, which gives us the opportunity for bringing our technology across India,” Chief Executive Christopher Calhoun told Reuters in an interview.

Through the deal, Cytori is hoping to sell its Celution systems to Apollo for the use in soft tissue reconstruction, including breast reconstruction, and for some aesthetic applications, Calhoun said.

He said Apollo is also interested in the development and use of Cytori’s therapies for cardiovascular indications. Cytori is also testing its stem cell-based treatment of patients with chronic heart attack patients with no treatment option.

The Chief Executive said, “Apollo group has around 50 hospitals. If each hospital over a period of time decides to buy a (Celution) system or two and use them once or twice a week, that could become a pretty significant opportunity.”

Entrepreneurship to be boosted by US startup Visa bill

March 18th, 2011 by James

Entrepreneurship to be boosted by US startup Visa billA bipartisan legislation aimed at slowing down the outflow of skilled talent and boost entrepreneurship in the US for driving job creation and improving global competitiveness of the United States has been introduced by two senior senators.

The bill adds provisions to last year’s draft Startup Visa Act to allow foreign students in US universities and workers on H-1B visas to start companies in the United States.

The StartUp Visa Act of 2011 will allow an immigrant entrepreneur to receive a two year visa if he or she can show that a qualified US investor is willing to invest in the immigrant’s startup venture.

Under the updated version, the pool of eligible immigrants would now also include holders of H-1B visas and entrepreneurs living outside the US with a market presence in the country.

The new legislation provides visas to the following groups under certain conditions:

First: Entrepreneurs living outside the US – if a US investor agrees to financially sponsor their entrepreneurial venture with a minimum investment of $100,000.

Two years later, the startup must have created five new American jobs and either have raised over $500,000 in financing or be generating more than $500,000 in yearly revenue.

Second: Workers on an H-1B visa, or graduates from US universities in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, or computer science – if they have an annual income of at least $30,000 or assets of at least $60,000 and have had a US investor commit investment of at least $20,000 in their venture.

The bill was introduced by John Kerry, Democratic chairman, and Richard Lugar, top Republican on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

Loss of Rs 3500 crore to insurers

March 11th, 2011 by James

Loss of Rs 3500 crore to insurersMinister of State for Finance Namo Narain Meena said in a written reply to the Lok Sabha disclosed that insurance companies would incur losses of about Rs 3,500 crore in the current fiscal because of motor insurance.

Meena said, “The insurance companies would incur a loss of approximately Rs 2,500-3,500 crore in the current year (2010-11) on account of this (motor insurance) business of which a substantial portion will be borne by the public sector insurance companies.”

“If the situation was allowed to continue, there will be a severe dent on the solvency of insurance companies which could lead to both solvency and liquidity issues for these companies,” Meena added.

In January, the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA) had, in an exposure draft, proposed a review of motor insurance premium rates for third party liability cover.

If the draft is implemented, it would result in a 10 per cent increase in premium for private cars and two wheelers and up to 80 per cent for goods carriers.

“The exposure draft envisages an increase of 10-80 per cent in the premium rates of third party motor insurance,” he said.

Third party motor insurance is mandatory for all classes of vehicles. Though regulation of the tariffs in the non-life sector was withdrawn in 2007, third party motor insurance continues to be regulated.

Meena added that the insurance regulator has been asked to implement the proposed increase in motor insurance premium as the losses could adversely affect the companies.

The number of books will grow continually, and one can predict that a time will come when it will be almost as difficult to learn anything from books as from the direct study of the whole universe. It will be almost as convenient to search for some bit of truth concealed in nature as it will be to find it hidden away in an immense multitude of bound volumes. – Denis Diderot

Dreams surely are difficult, confusing, and not everything in them is brought to pass for mankind. For fleeting dreams have two gates: one is fashioned of horn and one of ivory. Those which pass through the one of sawn ivory are deceptive, bringing tidings which come to nought, but those which issue from the one of polished horn bring true results when a mortal sees them. – Homer

I am still determined to be cheerful and happy, in whatever situation I may be; for I have also learned from experience that the greater part of our happiness or misery depends upon our dispositions, and not upon our circumstances. – Martha Washington
